To date, Sunny Border has grown and distributed more than 500,000 square ft. of GreenGrid® green roof system modules to job sites throughout the northeast, mid-atlantic and mid-west states. These include projects for large corporations like Ikea, Starbucks and Hannaford as well as many federal and state government buildings. We’ve also grown for installations at secondary schools and many colleges and universities including Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, WPI and University of Maryland.

We continually work to develop plant mixes that best meet the customers needs for the project at hand. This can include anything from providing plants that attract butterflies to coming up with plant lists that help to accomplish both environmental and design objectives at the same time.

We are very excited to play a key role in helping to build a cleaner, more energy efficient and more beautiful world, as a grower of plants used in the green roof industry.

The lightweight, modular design of the GreenGrid® System allows for easy installation and easier roof maintenance and repair than many rooftop systems that have been on the market. In addition, the modules come “pre-planted” allowing for fast, efficient installation, advanced plant development and built-in water retention. Modules are composed of 100% post-industrial recycled material, manufactured in the USA. This can contribute towards various LEED® Credits, including Recycled Content.”
