Better Gardens

Sunny Border's plants were featured on WFSB's Better Connecticut program, in their "Better Gardens" segment! Even better, most of these varieties were native plants! Thanks to Julie Harrison of Natural Elegance Design for the mention and for loving summer blooming perennials as much as we do. A shout out, as well, for her appreciation of our new Coreopsis Lil' Bang varieties! These little gems are taking the market by storm. Featured on the segment were 'Enchanted Eve' and 'Red Elf', just two of the 4 varieties available right now. Kurt Bluemel

Tribute to Kurt Bluemel

Kurt Bluemel died quite unexpectedly last Wednesday, June 4th. Known widely as the “King of Grasses”, Kurt will be best remembered for popularizing the use of ornamental grasses in the American landscape. Many of the grasses used throughout the U.S. were first introduced or bred by him. He also had a vast knowledge of plant material and, with relatively little formal training in horticulture or design, was a great plantsman and a phenomenal landscape artist.
