Leptinella squalida ‘Platt's Black’

Flat, 1-2" mats of deeply cut, fern-like foliage that holds a deep purple, near black color all summer, if grown in sun. Excellent groundcover.

    Hardiness Zones:5-9
    Deer Resistant:No
Growing Tips: Plant in average, moderately moist, well drained soil.

About Leptinella: Leptinella is a relative of daisies and asters. It is a spreading plant that is very useful as a groundcover where it creates a beautiful carpet of nicely textured foliage. Flowers are held above finely toothed foliage on wiry stems. Nice in the rock or alpine garden, placed in crevices around flagstone, cascading down and over stonewalls or in the front of the garden.
